five-seven-five
I run in the woods,
tripping over roots and rocks.
Cobwebs cover me.
I’ve heard it before.
We won’t go too fast today.
Runners often lie.

Pure hilarity.

She captures it well.
Laughter comes from pain;
something runners understand.
Such wit has a price.

Marathon runners
are beyond my ken, I don’t
understand the lure.
Even so, I see
that though the price is heavy
the calves are awesome.
So wake before dawn,
turn in before dusk, and run
To Boston or Bust!

I’m buying a house.
There is no time for running.
Only mild frenzy.

Nice site Dean. I’m trying to BQ at Disney 07. Same goal as you (3:15:59 or better). Need to take nine minutes off my PR. My wife has already planned the trip to Boston with our friends so the pressure is on. I will not be high-fiving any “characters” or stopping for photos. Best of luck with your BQ.

Phil,
I’ve run Disney twice, though sadly, my race reports are not yet complete. They’ll be good reading, what with my encounters with “coatman” and post-finish physical collapse to document for posterity.
If you haven’t been there before, Disney is a very well-run race. It won’t have the massive crowd support of a metropolitan marathon, but it makes up for quantity with quality. It’s a treat to run up Main Street, USA full of well-wishers. The full-blown Gospel choir at mile 26 is inspriational to say the least.
Disney also offers a sweet long-sleeve shirt that you can actually run in. And the medals are choice. Be careful, two years ago it was 60 degrees at the start. Last year, just above 30. The weather can really go either way.
The only hills to worry about are in the later miles. There’s two or three overpasses to traverse. They’re not bad, but at mile 19, no hill is truly welcome. The end is “man-made” flat with just a couple foot bridges, so no worries there.
So go and qualify, and I’ll see you at Boston ’07!
