Ramsey,

I'll have to blog some day about my experience with a dog in mile 21 of a 22-mile long run. Suffice it to say that I was in no mood for any canine interference. I was, shall we say, given over to the inebriating effects of testosterone, which is sort of funny if you know me.

You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

OK Dean... Here is my confession...

I discovered running and my affinity for it as a kid when I was chased by a dog for several minutes before being bitten in my left butt cheek. I found that the running felt pleasant although the bite did not. I suppose I owe that dog for starting my running “career”.

May you run as swiftly as a sleek hare chasing hound and go from zero-to Boston in 3:09!

I started running 'cause I got fat during my mid life crisis (I actually thought I'd started running during my mid life crisis but you've definitely set me straight there) and after I'd lost 60+ pounds when I was 46 (past mid life). I decided on running because it was a simple thing to do. It helps keep the weight off and keeps me sane.
I just added your link to the RBF, great blog too by the way!

Great site Dean. I look forward to following your progress & experiences. Remember though, the goal is not always the Destination but rather the Journey !!!

And on that running 'nirvana' thing. Nirvana - Sanskrit for 'to extinguish' or to transcend care and pain. So beware, you may very well find that at, or on your way to, Boston !!!

And great job at the G-Cup man !

The Boston Marathon is the marathoner's Nirvana???? You've been running the back woods of North Carolina too much. The Dublin Marathon (http://www.time-to-run.com/ireland/marathon/index.htm) is the real deal. Get a clue man!
